Who we are

Formed over 70 years ago, our thriving group of naturalists in Herts and the surrounding area now has more than 50 members, ranging in experience from natural history beginners to experts in their field. We are united by a passion for natural history and benefit from the varying interests of each member.

What we do

We arrange a fortnightly programme throughout the year exploring Herts and surrounding areas. Through our programme of events, we look out for and learn about all sorts of wildlife and how to record it. Our activities include badger watching, moth nights, botanical surveys, fungus forays, insect days, and occasional indoor meetings.

Many of our records have helped to protect wildlife habitats in the county from development.
